What does Kus mean?
Is a russian word means loving, tender bite — like when your pet bites you in that playful way.
You can find Kus catios and window protections in Germany, Finland, Canada, Kazakhstan. In just three years, our petscreens have reached cats all over the world. We cooperate with shelters and volunteers, and donate part of the profits to charity.
Here we are — Alyona and Chiabatta.
We have our own production facility in St. Petersburg, Russia and we dream of walking down the street and seeing petscreens on every window, knowing that kitties are safe.
In 2021, I saw Chiabatta lying on the windowsill. I was taking pictures of him: a ginger cat in sunlight. One day I saw him stretch and almost fell off. He isn’t dumb, just asleep and forgot where he was. I managed to catch him in time and immediately started searching for window protection.
I visited catios websites and understood nothing: information was compliceted, prices unclear. You had to call for a handyman to come and managers were so impolite. By that time, Katya and I had already worked together for three years on wedding displays, and I knew exactly what high-level service was — because I was creatiing it myself.
Those are us
Katya is the head of production, and Alyona is the project founder. I told Katya that I wanted a catio but it was terribly complicated and inconvenient to order. Why can't everyone work the way we do? "So let us do it," she answered, and in a couple of weeks we made our first catio! It has a lot of issues, but it is still the one Ciabatta loves the most.
Then we refined the models, created new products, honed production technologies... All friends and friends of friends who saw our catios asked us to make one for them :) We created the kind of service that I wanted to see when I was a client: simple, intuitive, without calls and unnecessary communication.
Now Katya fully manages the production — from metal selection to packing and shipping. And I, Alyona, am developing new products, managing marketing team and trying to make sure that the whole world knows about Kus.
