What is a window protection? What is it made of?

So called 'Anti-cat' is a metal grid that protects pets from falling out of a window. It is made of steel and covered with powder paint (just like cars are). Mosquito screens and plastic cat net alternatives aren’t suitable for cats: their fasteners break under pressure, mesh tears from claws, and the frame bends from impact.

Which windows is it suitable for?

You can install a window protection on almost all the windows. Try doing a closing test — there is a video of the test on the product page. Or just contact us and we will help you figure it out.

How to call a measurer?

To order our catio you can take measurements yourself in a couple of minutes. We have made detailed and clear video instructions to help you. If you still have difficulties, our manager will contact you and help — it's free.

How to take measurements?

Watch the video instructions on the product page. Be sure to use a tape measure when measuring. If you're not sure, send us photos via WhatsApp or Telegram showing the way you're measuring.

What if I take the measurements incorrectly?

If you measure according to the instructions, send us photos and use a tape measure, you will not make a mistake. Please be careful and do not hesitate to send the manager a photo or video of the measurements to make sure that you are doing everything correctly — this way, an error in the measurements is definitely excluded. If there is defect, we will definitely fix everything and send you a new catio.

What is the service life of the window protection?

It will serve many generations of cats. It will last at least 10 years.

What is the grid size?

The catio mesh size is 5x5 cm, but you can order a 2.5x2.5 cm mesh for an additional fee. The smaller mesh comes in waves and doesn't look as cool as our standard one, but it's suitable for small animals and birds.

Can the catio be painted in a different color?

Yes, we can paint it in any color from the RAL palette. This does not affect the price.

Can I clean the window protection with regular cleaning products? Will it rust?

The window protection is made of galvanized steel and coated with powder paint that protects against rust, so it can be washed.

Over time, rust may appear at the welds, in which case you just need to wipe it with a cloth. If the wing screws start to rust, they can be replaced with new ones (available at any hardware store).

Can the window protection be combined with a mosquito net?

The window protection can be covered with mosquito net. It can be added to your order.

What are the delivery options?

We deliver by Post. Delivery time and price depends on your location. Shipping is paid separately upon receipt. To calculate the cost, contact us.

How is the catio attached to the window?

It is installed without drilling, but attached with steel brackets around the perimeter. It does not damage the window frame, so it's convenient for rental apartments.

We specifically designed the window protection so that it can be installed without help. The balcony is also easy to install, but it requires two people, as it is heavy. A detailed installation guide is available on the product page.

How can I be sure the window protection is safe?

The 'Anti-cat' is made of steel grid welded to a steel frame. It contains no plastic, wood, or aluminum. Fastenings are also made of steel.

How to check? After installation, press on the window protection with your body weight. Pull it in different directions (not gently, but with full force), pull it down. If you're afraid to break it – it's not a good window protection.

Will the window protection hold if my cat jumps or hangs on it? What about multiple cats on the Cat Balcony?

Both the window protection and the Cat Balcony are rated for a load of up to 40 kg. They can withstand as much as the window frame can withstand, even with jumps and impacts. We've tested them with human weights of 70+ kg.

How to protect a tilt ventilation?

Tilt ventilation injures and kills a large number of cats.

The window protection won’t help here: it’s on the outside of the window, but the problem is from the inside of the apartment. You need a special tilt ventilation protection, which your pet cannot climb and cannot get stuck in.

Can a kitten squeeze through the window protrction?

The window protection cells are 5x5 cm, so a kitten younger than four months old can squeeze through it. But why would you place such a tiny kitten on the window?

There seems to be something wrong with my catio. What should I do?

We are very attentive to the quality and try to avoid even minor defects, but it is impossible to ensure that won't happens.

What is NOT a defect and does not affect the safety of animals, as well as the appearance and service life:
— if the mesh rods are slightly different in shape (very rare, but this can happen)
— minor paint defects: bubbles, roughness, unpainted areas on the mesh in some places
— deviation from the dimensions up to 5 mm

We will replace or remake your catio if:
— more than 5 rods have come off the frame
— you have discovered another serious defect that prevents the use of the catio or makes it unsafe for your pet

We stay in touch with you after the order and and respond to any problems. If we made a mistake in production, we will do everything to correct or compensate for it.
